bugs and stuff....

Snooping through TK Maxx and i found these gems, sure i'd never pay £15 a piece but i could make something even better for less than that, this is merely an idea seed...

Taxidermy with a Twist

Being somewhat of a science homeboy, reveling in all that is Victorian, the age of discovery machines, science vs religion and the constant need of inquisitiveness, coupled with adventure, i love a dash of taxidermy, however i am not fond of the idea of a half shreeking killer whale head infested with a myriad of lice, beetles and other such joyous creatures co-residing in my humble abode, although i love clutter, i cant help but feel that sometimes it is less than practical, and so i have been looking for interesting alternatives:

Actually I've made  something very similar from scratch before (Derick the deer) and had plans to make a more permanent version out of foam core, however the prices of this material are currently sky high...gash

The next example is from a rather crafty designer known as Jennifer Khoshbin who predominantly uses textured and coloured paper for the desired effect, these I like, lots...

loving the beetles...
And to something not to dissimilar Design sponge have posted up a tutorial as to how to to make a This here Papermache Deer Head :

Chompers is pretty darn ace himself: but a little bright for my desired decorum

simple yet bloom'n brilliant, crayons a canvas and a heat gun: ingenious...

More plant related gear...

old and busted, hanging plant pots: new and exciting 45 degree angle wall planters...

Personally I thought it would go great with some Nepenthes

Succulent pictures

This is a fantastic idea, bringing in naturalistic themes alongside the clean and crisp ideals or modern architecture, but ultimately I just think it looks pretty darned ace...

storage...of a sort

This is a fantastic idea... I've always had a chair in my bedroom which in turn inadvertently becomes my main form of storage... so why not design storage like a chair?

Planters...

You can never have to many plants around it seems, and if they are fantastically alternate and interesting in nature, then well how could you possibly go wrong (thinks of little shop of horrors momentarily)
so when i saw these by AURELIEN ARBET and JEREMIE EGRY well i was a little impressed...
This one is definitely my favorite (i love the use of unwanted books), although i cant help feeling a little guilty when defacing a book, i have deep reverencey for even the most humble of books... weird ai?
This one isn't without merit however, and would look epic in an explorer themed room...
